Partner yoga is a delicious exploration of yoga in pairs: by using each other’s body-weight we relax and allow the stretch to happen.
We weave in elements of Thai Yoga Massage in order to give & receive nurturing touch and to help release tension in the body.
The 2 keys are: communication and trust - and they go hand-in-hand. With clear feedback we are able to ask for what we need/want, and by listening we are able to respond. And though mutual support we allow ourselves to let go, get creative with our bodies and deepen into the postures.
It’s a wonderful way to connect and have fun with a friend, a lover – or maybe a complete stranger! Either way you will leave feeling stretched, relaxed and enlivened (that’ll be the oxytocin!)
Lioba and I have been teaching Partner Yoga together for 6 years. We hold a safe space whilst also encouraging you to experiment with the material in a playful way.
